I am never as in touch with my work as when I travel with limited materials and necessities to wild, remote environments. The weather breaks over me and directs my drawing and painting in its own unique way. This body of work is based on a tiny island in the Atlantic, just off the coast of Scotland; its beauty and drama resonate deeply, a sky full of shadows and light, the land and the sea shine with gem-like colours that succumb in turn to grey mists, cutting me off from the world and allowing me to be absorbed into my surroundings.
