We are delighted to present ‘In Harmony’, a two artist joint show: West Sussex based painter Michael Bishop and ceramicist from Surrey, Lucy Burley.
”My brother-in-law Michael Bishop’s paintings have delighted me for many years, so I was thrilled to be invited to take part in this joint exhibition at Arundel Contemporary; we are both inspired by the landscape, both real and imaginary. It has been a great pleasure to respond to his paintings and create sculptural groups of vessels which echo his forms and colours.”

‘In Harmony’
It’s a real pleasure to collaborate with my talented sister-in-law, ceramicist Lucy Burley for our exhibition ‘In Harmony’ at Arundel Contemporary which brings together her pots and my paintings.
We’ve tried to echo each other’s colour palette and in some cases Lucy has formed wonderful pots in the shape of my stylised trees.
Many of the paintings have an Italian theme and in three, specifically the ‘Casa sulla collina’ trio, our shared admiration for Morandi is evident. We hope you find the show harmonious and uplifting.
Many thanks to Maya Coppen, the Arundel Contemporary owner, for her careful curation and encouragement.
