We are delighted to present the first solo exhibition of works by Jitka Palmer, Chezh born British artist.
Born in Prague, Czechoslovakia. Studied Medicine and was qualified as a doctor of Medicine in 1984. Later she teaches Anatomy and sets up her first studio.
In 1985 Jitka moved to London and studied Ceramics at Croydon College of Art & Design. After she graduated she received a Crafts Council Setting-up Grant, which enabled her to establish a studio in London. For ten years she worked as a freelance artist, exhibiting both in England and abroad.
In 1995 she returns to the Czech Republic for three years, teaching English and Anatomy and Morphology for artists. She also concentrates on developing her drawing and painting skills.
In 1998 Jitka moves back to Britain and settles in Bristol where she lives and work to this day.
She taught master classes at Cardiff University, colleges in Bath and Bristol, workshops for children and adults.
Jitka exhibited in Britain, Europe and USA. Her work is in private and public collections including Musee National de Ceramique, Paris.

The exhibition features her painted ceramics vessels, stone and clay sculpture as well as watercolours on the theme of music and books, her greatest pleasures.
