We are pleased to announce Alex Berdysheff’s new solo exhibition.
As its title suggests, this exhibition doesn’t follow any particular theme. Instead, it concentrates on the multidisciplinary nature of the artist’s work.
We will be introducing his new 3D pieces, as well as a new collection of paintings.
”Creating three-dimensional compositions (i.e. objects, constructions, sculpture) isn’t something completely new for me. The environment I grew up in gave me the skills of working with wood, metal, stone, plastics, and even textiles.
Apart from drawings and sketches, the very first pieces of artwork I produced were collages, for which I mostly used as the main components, things which I had found lying around.
People often told me that a lot of my work could also be interpreted as a 3D scene. Now, the prevalence of 3D software makes it straightforward to experiment.
This time, I decided to turn a small wooden box into a kind of stage, onto which I place ‘actors’ and ‘scenery’. I call these series ‘sets’ and I think they can be developed in different directions; for me this modern method complements the traditional process of oil and acrylic painting in a very interesting way.”
