Overview
Stephanie was born in Boulogne-Billancourt, Paris. AT 18 she entered Penninghen School of Artistic Direction and Interior Architecture in Paris, graduating five years later with Honours in Graphic Art. In 1987 she worked for Lizzy Derriey at her textile and wallpaper design studio in Paris. Later she worked in the creative department of Saatchi & Saatchi in London. In 1989 she participated in an exhibition with two illustration at the Grand Palais in Paris, during the Salon Decorateurs.
Towards the end of the 1990s she began to work for Jean-Paul Gaultier, the avant-garde Haute Couture fashion designer.
In March 1994 she had her first solo exhibition of 60 paintings. A month later Stephanie got married and left for Mexico where she spend 11 years, later moving to Seville and Madrid in 2004. After living in Europe and raising her children, Stephanie returned to France in 2007 where she continues to live and work from her home and studio in the beautiful Loire Valley.
”When I paint, I look for beauty. I would like my work to transmit peace, serenity and hope, which are also the things I aim for in my own life. There is a certain solitude in some of my paintings; a positive and necessary solitude for which one needs to hear what is in the depths of one’s heart”, says the artist.
