VIEW WORKS

Overview

For twenty years now, I have sculpted dynamic human figures in clay, using my stoneware glazes, all imagined as though made of flint.

Inspiration comes from flints found on Wessex beaches evoking man’s long-standing relationship with this mysterious material. I particularly focus on joy and aspiration but also highlight a shared vulnerability to the destructive forces of nature.

My work has been featured in several books and magazines. I attended the Museum School of Fine Arts Boston USA, and was mentored by Althea Wynne FBSS.

All Paul’s sculptures are unique, made from Scarva Earth stone clay and fired with original glazes to a high temperature, making them suitable for outdoors.

The base is seasoned oak.
